Allison transmission is designed to make heavy vehicles operate smoothly and efficiently. Its rated power can reach 522 kW (700 HP). It has seven gears including overdrive and two reverse gears, which can improve vehicle productivity and reliability. The optional wide speed ratio and narrow speed ratio, as well as the PTO power take-off, make the work easier and easier. The optional built-in integrated output retarder enhances the braking capacity of the vehicle and reduces the wear of the braking system; The fifth generation electronic control system can provide efficient operation and pre diagnosis functions to cope with a variety of operating conditions. Some of these same ( new ) components are used on all 5000 and 6000- series transmissions – those with manual electric or manual hydraulic controls as well as the CEC2-controlled models . As a result , the new model nomenclature has been applied to all transmissions in this family.”To accomodate the release of a new electronic control system for Allison 5000 and 6000 series off – highway transmission models ( called “CEC2 controls “), certain transmission components such as housings were modified .
