Description of Models<\/span>
\n<\/span>The HD-2 Type Controlair Valves are handle operated<\/span>
\n<\/span>4-way, exhausted center, pressure control<\/span>
\n<\/span>valves.<\/span>
\n<\/span>The typical unit contains two directional control 3-way<\/span>
\n<\/span>side valves and a pressure graduating portion that is<\/span>
\n<\/span>arranged to increase, decrease or maintain air pressure<\/span>
\n<\/span>to a separate delivery line. In neutral position,<\/span>
\n<\/span>both 3-way side valves exhaust both delivery lines. A<\/span>
\n<\/span>movement of 10 degrees either side of center position<\/span>
\n<\/span>opens the appropriate side valve and directs<\/span>
\n<\/span>pressure to the indicated outlet port. Continued<\/span>
\n<\/span>movement past 10 degrees up to full travel, or 46<\/span>
\n<\/span>degrees either side of neutral continues to actuate<\/span>
\n<\/span>the pressure graduating portion to deliver a graduated<\/span>
\n<\/span>pressure according to the valve of the control<\/span>
\n<\/span>spring.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>Models<\/span>
\n<\/span>There are six models with similar valve functions, but<\/span>
\n<\/span>different handle operating characteristics.<\/span>
\n<\/span>HD-2-X Controlair Valve -Handle is spring returned<\/span>
\n<\/span>to neutral position from all positions in the handle<\/span>
\n<\/span>travel. Some special models exist. See notes on<\/span>
\n<\/span>Identity schedule on page 7.<\/span>
\n<\/span>HD-2-LX Controlair Valve – Handle is spring returned<\/span>
\n<\/span>to neutral position from all positions except at<\/span>
\n<\/span>the maximum pressure setting on both sides of center.<\/span>
\n<\/span>The handle is held in both extreme positions by<\/span>
\n<\/span>a mechanical detent.<\/span>
\n<\/span>HD-2-FX Controlair Valve – Handle is equipped with<\/span>
\n<\/span>a friction brake that will hold the handle in any position<\/span>
\n<\/span>selected in the handle travel.<\/span>
\n<\/span>HD-2-XS Controlair Valve – Handle detents in both<\/span>
\n<\/span>maximum pressure positions. The handle is spring<\/span>
\n<\/span>returned to neutral position from all other positions in<\/span>
\n<\/span>the handle travel. Graduated pressure to port (8) is<\/span>
\n<\/span>only delivered in one direction of the handle movement.<\/span>
\n<\/span>HD-2-FXR Controlair Valve – Handle function is<\/span>
\n<\/span>similar to the HD-2-FX Valve. The difference is the<\/span>
\n<\/span>two directional valves are supplied instead of being<\/span>
\n<\/span>exhausted when the handle is in the neutral position,<\/span>
\n<\/span>HD-2-LS Controlair Valve- Handle holds in full travel,<\/span>
\n<\/span>neutral and detent positions.<\/span>
