Description of Models
\nThe HD-2 Type Controlair Valves are handle operated
\n4-way, exhausted center, pressure control
\nvalves.
\nThe typical unit contains two directional control 3-way
\nside valves and a pressure graduating portion that is
\narranged to increase, decrease or maintain air pressure
\nto a separate delivery line. In neutral position,
\nboth 3-way side valves exhaust both delivery lines. A
\nmovement of 10 degrees either side of center position
\nopens the appropriate side valve and directs
\npressure to the indicated outlet port. Continued
\nmovement past 10 degrees up to full travel, or 46
\ndegrees either side of neutral continues to actuate
\nthe pressure graduating portion to deliver a graduated
\npressure according to the valve of the control
\nspring.<\/p>\n
Models
\nThere are six models with similar valve functions, but
\ndifferent handle operating characteristics.
\nHD-2-X Controlair Valve -Handle is spring returned
\nto neutral position from all positions in the handle
\ntravel. Some special models exist. See notes on
\nIdentity schedule on page 7.
\nHD-2-LX Controlair Valve – Handle is spring returned
\nto neutral position from all positions except at
\nthe maximum pressure setting on both sides of center.
\nThe handle is held in both extreme positions by
\na mechanical detent.
\nHD-2-FX Controlair Valve – Handle is equipped with
\na friction brake that will hold the handle in any position
\nselected in the handle travel.
\nHD-2-XS Controlair Valve – Handle detents in both
\nmaximum pressure positions. The handle is spring
\nreturned to neutral position from all other positions in
\nthe handle travel. Graduated pressure to port (8) is
\nonly delivered in one direction of the handle movement.
\nHD-2-FXR Controlair Valve – Handle function is
\nsimilar to the HD-2-FX Valve. The difference is the
\ntwo directional valves are supplied instead of being
\nexhausted when the handle is in the neutral position,
\nHD-2-LS Controlair Valve- Handle holds in full travel,
\nneutral and detent positions.<\/p>\n
